ContiTech: Installation tips – changing timing belts Described using the Renault Clio II 1.6 16V engine code K4M 748 as an example Hanover, April 2010. Renault installs a large number of the Clio II 1.6 16V engine, with differing engine displacement, in their vehicles. When the timing belts are changed, critical mistakes are made again and again that have a negative effect on the belt drive. To ensure that changing the belts goes smoothly, ContiTech Power Transmission Group is providing mechanics with a detailed list of installation tips. Step by step, ContiTech experts explain how to replace belts correctly. When the timing belts are changed, the tension pulley, the guide pulley and the water pump should be replaced, too. Renault recommends a belt change every 100,000 km for all models up to 1999, and every 120,000 km for all later models, or for low mileages. In order to do this, mechanics require a crankshaft locking pin, Renault tool code MOT1489, and a camshaft alignment ruler, Renault tool code MOT1496. The working time is for the Clio about 2.7, for the Mégane 3.6, for the Mégane Scénic 3.9 and for the Laguna 2.5 hours. Preparatory work: Identify the vehicle using the engine code on the engine block (Fig. 1). Disconnect the vehicle's battery.

CAULIFLOWER STEAK >> 1 cauliflower yields approx 3 “steaks” Ingredients: 1 head of cauliflower Olive oil Kosher salt (table salt or sea salt or whatever you have) Pepper Chopped handful of parsley (optional) © Disney Take 1 head of cauliflower and clean off all leaves from the bottom. Cut off the stalk, so that it’s flush with the rest of the cauliflower body. Take the cauliflower and place on its side so that the stalk is in front of you horizontally. Take a sharp knife and cut the cauliflower through its body, so that you are making crosssections of pieces. Once cut, the stalk is in the middle holding all florets together It’s ok if when cutting, some of the florets come loose, you can roast those pieces later. Once you have all your “steaks” cut, place them on a roasting tray. Drizzle with olive oil, salt & pepper and chopped parsley if you have, or even like it! Rub the steaks all over on both sides. Heat BBQ / grill on medium/high heat. Place “steaks” on grill and begin to cook approx 3-5 minutes on each side. They should have nice grill marks on both sides. Once all steaks are done, insert a fork to check that they are tender. Place back on roasting tray and cover with foil, sealing all edges. The heat from the steaks sealed in the foil will continue to cook the steaks until they become nice and tender. That’s it! You’re done! So easy you’re laughing!! DisneyJunior.com/ThatsFresh

Motor Oil Place the bike on the center stand (not the kick stand) The Drain Plug and the Dipstick for the motor oil are located on the right side of the bike. Place a drain pan under the Drain Plug and remove the plug with a 17mm socket or wrench. Lancepowersports.com A small spring and Screen Type Oil Filter will also pop out. Place these two items off to the side and wash them clean by flushing them with new 10W-40 motor oil. (If you keep the dipstick out of the motor, it will drain the oil faster) Let the motor oil drain until only a few drops fall every few seconds. Put the cleaned Oil Filter and the spring back into the engine as shown to the left. If done incorrectly, the filter will not be efficient in collecting dirt and sludge from the engine. Screw back on the drain plug using a torque wrench. The recommended torque for this bolt is 15 lbs/ft. Lancepowersports.com Using a funnel, pour 0.75 quarts of 10W-40 Motor Oil into the engine. We recommend using non-synthetic oil for the first oil change to help the engine break in properly. After the first oil change, feel free to use synthetic oil. Check the oil with the dipstick. Place the dipstick in the motor but do not screw it in. Pull it out and make sure that the oil reading is within the hash-marks, then add or drain oil accordingly until it is. Screw in the dipstick and run the bike for a minute or two and check the level to make sure that you have the proper level. Lancepowersports.com
